Horsham 1 started the New Year with a draw against a decent Lewes side. On board three, I had the Black pieces against Louis Buckland. I managed to save the game after a difficult struggle.

Horsham Chess Club Championship 2024-25: Mansson – Comley
Last Tuesday I was up against Ian Comley in round five of the club championship. I managed to win again, putting myself in the chasing pack half a point off the leaders.

Horsham Club Championship 2024-25: Miller – Mansson
Last night I was up against Daniel Miller for the third time this season; this time our game was in the club championship. I managed to win, but only after a long struggle.
County Match (Open) 2024-25: Sussex – Kent
Sussex scored a big win against Kent yesterday by a margin of 11-5. I was playing on board eleven and contributed a win.
Horsham Club Rapidplay 2024-25: Mansson – Ratcliffe
Last Tuesday I played a game in the rapidplay against promising club junior James Ratcliffe. The game saw me under some pressure as the assessment of the position fluctuated, but in the end I managed to achieve a draw.

Sussex League Division 1 2024-25: Horsham 1 – Brighton 1
Last night, Horsham 1 played away in the league against Brighton 1. The match ended in a 2-2 draw, as in the last game to finish Gavin Lock defeated Callum Brewer, to cancel out Luke Rutherford’s win against Mark Broom.
