Last Monday, Horsham 1 achieved an excellent result, beating East Grinstead 1 away by the score of 2.5-1.5. I contributed a win on board three.
I was White against Bob Noyce. The game started with my opponent choosing a risky line of the Scandinavian; unfortunately for him, I knew of an excellent response to it. After twelve moves, I had a clear advantage; following some further inaccuracies, my opponent’s position slid to being lost. I managed to maintain my advantage, and in the end even checkmated my opponent on the board.
I give the game below with some notes.
