Last night, Horsham 1 scored an excellent 3.5-0.5 win over Worthing 1. I contributed an accurate win against Peter Larwood on board three.
I was playing White and the game developed into a Chebanenko Slav. My opponent played a slightly inaccurate move, which allowed me to secure a small but definite opening advantage. In the middlegame, a careless move by my opponent allowed me to break in the centre, then a miscalculation allowed me to win a pawn. I was then able to attack his queenside and initiate a forcing sequence that led to the win of a piece; my opponent promptly resigned.
I give the game below with some notes.
