Last Tuesday, Horham 1 suffered a disappointing loss against a slightly weakened Brighton 1 side (Geoff James was ill). Mark Broom was defeated on board two by Calum Salmons, while the efforts of the other Horsham players only yielded three draws, despite all having their chances.
My game was especially frustrating, as I build up an early advantages, only to let it slip away, then later missed a probably winning blow; in the end, I ran into a few difficulties myself, but my opponent was happy to secure a draw because of the match situation.
I give the game below with some notes.
