Following on from my last post, here is my second win against Pete Rankin, this time with the black pieces.
The game started with a sharp line of the Sicilian Defence. White soon went wrong with a weakening of the queenside; this allows Black to establish a comfortable position there. He then allowed a knight fork on one of the weakened squares, dropping the exchange. Black did not exploit his advantage in the most accurate way; however, a further blunder, dropping a piece, led to White’s prompt resignation, since Black still had plenty of time left on the clock.
