This is usually not a good idea in such positions, unless White can create pressure on d5 and b7 as a result, since it allows Black to develop his knight to c6. 4.Nf3 was the better move, when 4...dxc4 is the critical reply.}   4...cxd5 5.Qb3 Nc6 6.Nf3 e5 7.d3 h6 8.O-O Be7   {Black has the better position because of his strong centre, which makes it difficult for White to develop.}   9.Nfd2 O-O 10.Nc3 Nd4 11.Qd1 Be6 12.e3 Nc6 13.a3 Rc8 14.Qe2   {? This allows Black to push in the centre. 14.Nf3 was more solid, but still very passive.}   14...Qd7   {Black continues to develop, but he could have advanced in the centre at once. 14...d4! was very strong.}   15.Rd1 Bg4   {15...d4! was very strong.}   16.f3   {? This was an unnecessary weakening. 16.Bf3 was better.}   16...Be6 17.f4   {? This was a further unnecessary weakening.}   17...Bg4   {17...d4! was very strong.}   18.Bf3 exf4 19.gxf4   {19.exf4? Bc5+ 20.Kh1 Nd4 21.Qf1 Rfe8 with a crushing attack.}   19...d4!   {Finally.}   20.Nce4 Bxf3 21.Nxf6+   {? 21.Nxf3 dxe3 22.Bxe3 Nd5 gives Black a definite advantage, but White is still in the game.}   21...Bxf6   {Now Black is definitely winning.}   22.Nxf3 dxe3 23.d4   {23.Bxe3 Rfe8 is winning.}   23...Qg4+   {23...Nxd4! 24.Nxd4 Bxd4 25.Bxe3 Rfe8 is a clearer win.}   24.Kh1 Qxf4 25.Bxe3 Qe4 26.Qf2 Rfe8 27.Re1 Qd5   {27...Bh4! wins on the spot.}   28.Rad1 Re4   {28...Bh4! again wins on the spot.}   29.Rg1 Kh8 30.Rg2 Rce8 31.Bxh6   {White played this in desperation.}   gxh6 32.Nd2 Bh4 0-1
