Last Saturday, the Sussex U-180 team took on Middlesex up in London. Unfortunately, the team captain had great difficulty finding players, and the team ended up having to default 5 boards. Despite this, a spirited performance saw them restrict the losing margin to 6.5-9.5.
My game was against Ian Calvert. He met my artificial opening set up well, and soon gained a good game. I blundered away a pawn, but fortunately he decided that the position was too much work to attempt to win, and offered a draw, which I was happy to accept.
I give the game below with some notes.
