Sussex scored a big win against Kent yesterday by a margin of 11-5. I was playing on board eleven and contributed a win.
I had the Black pieces. The game started with a Semi-Tarrasch Defence and play went down the main line for a while. After some uncertain middlegame play from both players, my opponent unwisely decided to take play into an endgame. He then adopted an inaccurate plan aiming to regain the pawn he had sacrifice in the middlegame; however, I found a tactical refutation. Although I allowed my opponent one last chance to muddy the waters, he failed to find it and in the end lost on time in a hopeless position.
I give the game below with some notes.
